The tricky thing about aging is that you can start to show signs of aging in unique places like your hands or even your neck. Although there are nonsurgical treatments like fillers and Botox to help treat premature signs of aging on your face, there aren’t many for your neck. One of the best ways to get rid of loose, wrinkly skin on the neck is with a neck lift. Let’s take a closer look at this procedure.

What’s a Neck Lift?

A neck lift is a surgical procedure that is used to lift and tighten the skin on your neck. Similar to a facelift, a neck lift can give you almost instantly more youthful looking skin. During the neck lift, we will typically make an incision underneath the chin that extends to the ear. Once the incisions have been made, we will then remove excess skin and lift and tighten the existing skin. The result? A more youthful looking neck.

What Is Recovery Like?

Because a neck lift is a surgical procedure, it does require a decent amount of recovery. You will typically need to take a week or two off of work or your regular activities to recuperate. During recovery, we will encourage you to keep the surgical drain in your incision to help get rid of excess fluid. Additionally, we also encourage our patients to keep their head elevated to help get rid of swelling; especially when you’re sleeping at night.

Having tight, youthful skin on your face but loose skin on your neck will make you look like you’ve had work done in only some of the right places. To help your neck match your face, consider getting a neck lift done.
