Who can receive EMSCULPT®?
EMSCULPT® is appropriate for both men and women who desire an improvement in muscle mass and tone. Pregnant women should not undergo treatment with EMSCULPT. People with implanted devices such as pacemakers, or defibrillators are not candidates.
What areas can be treated with EMSCULPT®?
EMSCULPT® was initially used to shape the abdominal muscles, creating a slim, toned and sculpted abdomen faster and more effectively than standard exercise routines. EMSCULPT® also shapes and tones the buttocks, thighs, and arms by building muscle and reducing fat.
How does EMSCULPT® work?
EMSCULPT® uses HIFEM technology (High-Frequency Electromagnetic Waves) to stimulate muscle contraction. During a typical treatment session, EMSCULPT® causes the muscles to contract up to 20,000 times. This intense exercise is structured to simulate interval training within each session to maximize results. You will feel your muscles working intensely in multiple patterns of contraction during the treatment.
The treatments are spaced 2 to 3 days apart to allow for optimal muscle recovery, similar to the way that which bodybuilders structure their workouts to avoid overtraining a particular muscle group.

- Abdominal Study: In a study of 22 patients treated with 4 sessions within 2 weeks, decreased waist size, muscle toning and fat reduction were documented with a patient satisfaction rate of 96%.
- Buttock Study: In a multicenter study, 75 patients received 4 treatments. 85% of patients reported a significant improvement in appearance. 80% felt their buttock was more lifted and toned immediately after their 4th treatment with improvement of buttock laxity and tightness, shape, tone and fullness.
Will EMSCULPT® help me lose weight?
EMSCULPT® builds muscle and reduces the amount of fat in the treatment area. Your body weight might not change, and could actually increase due to the increase in muscle mass as muscle is heavier than fat. When you become stronger, improve your shape, core strength, and decrease the amount of body fat, you are more likely to adapt a healthy lifestyle, diet, and exercise.
How long do the results of EMSCULPT® last?
Muscle built using EMSCULPT® can be maintained with regular exercise just as muscle acquired by traditional bodybuilding and weight training. Maintenance with periodic treatments after the initial treatment sessions can be an option.

Is EMSCULPT® painful?
During the treatment session, intense muscle contractions may be uncomfortable for some. The discomfort is similar to that which one has during an intense workout. The rapid contractions are interrupted by slower contractions in phases. After the first few minutes, the initial discomfort subsides. Pain medications, anesthesia and/or sedation are totally unnecessary.
